Plywood Calculator
Enter the area you need to cover to find how many 4×8 sheets of plywood to buy. Each 4×8 sheet covers 32 square feet.
How to calculate plywood
Find the area you're covering in square feet (length × width), then divide by 32, the coverage of one 4 ft × 8 ft sheet. Round up to whole sheets and add about 10% for cuts and waste.
Sheets = Area ft² ÷ 32 (each 4×8 sheet covers 32 ft²)
Worked example
A subfloor 20 ft long and 16 ft wide (320 ft²).
- Area = 20 × 16 = 320 ft²
- Sheets = 320 ÷ 32 = 10 sheets
Result: 10 sheets of 4×8 plywood
